BLUE GHOST MISSION 1 (Firefly Aerospace)

The shadow of Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander is visible on the lunar landscape at Mare Crisium...as Earth lurks in the far distance on March 2, 2025
Firefly Aerospace

Launch: January 14, 2025 (10:11 PM, PST)

Destination: Moon - Mare Crisium - Mons Latreille region

Lunar Orbit Insertion: February 13, 2025

Landing: March 2, 2025 (12:34 AM, PST)

End of mission: March 16, 2025

IM-2 (Intuitive Machines)

A photo of Intuitive Machines' Athena lander on the lunar surface...on March 6, 2025
Intuitive Machines

Launch: February 26, 2025 (4:16 PM, PST)

Destination: Moon - Lunar South Pole - Mons Mouton region

Lunar Orbit Insertion: March 3, 2025

Landing: March 6, 2025 (10:28 AM, PST)

End of mission: March 6, 2025 (11:15 PM, PST)

*-Just like Odysseus on 2024's IM-1 mission, Athena unfortunately tipped over upon landing on the Moon on March 6, 2025. To make the situation worse, the spacecraft fell inside a small lunar crater...whose shadow was cast over much of the lander and prevented its batteries from being recharged by sunlight. Athena's power was fully depleted within hours.
